OVERVIEW
The guideline book for 24asia serves as a comprehensive guide designed to ensure smooth and effective operation of all activities within the organisation. This book is essential for all students, volunteers, core team members, and department-specific volunteers, providing clear instructions, expectations, and best practices to foster a respectful, safe, and productive environment.
This guideline promotes consistency, safety, and professionalism across all levels of involvement in 24asia. It helps new and existing members understand their roles, responsibilities, and the standards they should uphold to contribute positively to the organisation’s mission. By standardizing procedures, it ensures that everyone is aligned in their efforts to serve the community effectively and ethically.
The book details the behavioural and operational standards expected from students, volunteers, and core team members. It covers essential topics like punctuality, dress code, safety protocols, communication, and respect for others. The Organisation has its rights to amend and make any changes and to update to anyone/everyone involved with the organisation.

CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE POLICY
1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
1.1. This Code of Conduct (“the Code”) sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all individuals associated with The 24asia, including general volunteers, students, volunteer leaders, facilitators, and all members (collectively referred to as “Members”).
1.2. As an organisation providing training and workshops for migrant workers in Singapore, it is imperative that all Members maintain the highest standards of integrity, respect, and professionalism to ensure a safe and empowering environment for our beneficiaries.
1.3. This policy is designed to comply with the Charities Act, the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs), and the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore.
2. CORE VALUES
2.1. Integrity: Members shall act with honesty and transparency in all dealings.
2.2. Respect: Members shall treat beneficiaries, staff, and fellow volunteers with dignity, regardless of nationality, race, religion, or gender.
2.3. Empowerment: All activities should focus on upskilling and supporting the migrant worker community in a sustainable manner.
3. GENERAL STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
3.1. Professionalism: Members must represent the Organisation positively. When on duty or wearing the Organisation’s attire (if applicable, Members must refrain from smoking, consuming alcohol, or engaging in any illegal activities.
3.2. Punctuality and Commitment: Members are expected to adhere to agreed schedules for workshops and training. If a Member is unable to attend, notice must be provided to the Volunteer Leader at least 48 hours in advance.
3.3. Attire: Members shall dress appropriately for the nature of the volunteer work, ensuring modesty and cultural sensitivity given the diversity of the migrant worker community.
4. INTERACTION WITH BENEFICIARIES
4.1. Boundaries: Members must maintain professional boundaries. Personal lending or borrowing of money, or entering into private business arrangements with migrant worker beneficiaries, is strictly prohibited.
4.2. Cultural Sensitivity: Members shall educate themselves on the cultural backgrounds of the beneficiaries to avoid offensive gestures or language.
4.3. No Exploitation: Under no circumstances shall a Member use their position to seek personal gain or sexual favours from beneficiaries.
5. DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY
5.1. Compliance with PDPA: Members may have access to the personal data of migrant workers (e.g., FIN numbers, contact details). Members must not disclose, copy, or use this data for any purpose outside of authorised Organisation activities.
5.2. Media and Photography: No photos or videos of beneficiaries may be posted on personal social media accounts without the explicit written consent of both the beneficiary and the Organisation’s management.
5.3. Information: Members shall avoid negligent, careless, or inconsiderate treatment of stakeholders or their information.
6. PROTECTION FROM HARASSMENT
6.1. In accordance with the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA), The 24asia maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward bullying, sexual harassment, or verbal abuse.
6.2. Any Member who feels they have been harassed, or witnesses harassment, should report the incident immediately via the established Grievance Procedure.
6.3. The organisation will not tolerate any harassment arising against you and hold its rights to terminate you temporarily/permanently from all activities and issue show-cause to you.
The following are examples of harassment, behaviour not in the list may also be considered as harassment and intimidation:
- Involve/teasing with someone’s religious, cultural practices
- Involve/teasing with someone’s sexual orientation, gender identities
- Making derogatory remarks, or slurs
- Use abusive and inappropriate words or remarks
- Making sexual jokes, gestures or commenting of a someone’s body
- Making verbal intimidation, threats of harms
- Unwanted sexual advantages
- Constant criticism: Unsubstantiated and harsh criticism can undermine someone’s self-esteem.
- Yelling, screaming, using loud voices to intimidate. Insulting, belittling and demeaning comments that can make someone feel inferior

7. CONFLICT OF INTEREST
7.1. Members must declare any potential conflict of interest (e.g., if a volunteer’s employer provides services that compete with or overlap with the Organisation’s workshops).
7.2. Avoid reaching out / making contact or communicating about work/personal interest with any current partners/stakeholders, unless or otherwise you’re instructed to.
7.3. Avoid giving or taking bribes in favour of something related to 24asia or its interest.
8. DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
8.1. Failure to comply with this Code may result in disciplinary action. The process is as follows:
- Stage 1: Verbal Warning. For minor breaches (e.g., unexcused lateness).
- Stage 2: Written Warning. For repeated minor breaches or a single moderate breach (e.g., unprofessional conduct).
- Stage 3: Suspension/Termination. For serious misconduct (e.g., theft, harassment, breach of PDPA, or bringing the Organisation into disrepute).
8.2. The Organisation reserves the right to terminate a Member’s affiliation immediately in cases of gross misconduct without prior warnings.
9. LOST AND DAMAGE
9.1 Members shall not wilfully, negligently, or carelessly damage, deface, or mishandle property of the organisation, another volunteer, or stakeholders/partners.
9.2 You are responsible to take care of all your belongings, any loss or damage of personal property, the organisation will not be liable.
STUDENT GUIDELINES
- Students who attend the class should be punctual and at least arrive 30 minutes early before the session.
- Students are required to wear a 24asia top or 100% White Top with long pants and covered shoes.
- Highly recommended to bring a set of writing materials such as 3 different color pens and a paper or notebook to document information.
- Students who are unable to make it for the session are required to notify 24asia & Submit Cancellation Form at least a day before the session starts.
- Avoid using your phone, so that you will not be distracted in class.
- During classes we would appreciate everyone to be quiet unless needed to be spoken to.
- Switch all devices to silent mode during class.
- Have an attentive and proactive mindset during class time.
- Follow the safety procedures instructed by the trainer.
- Submit all session homework assignments promptly before the deadline (if applicable).
- Always be respectful to other students and volunteers.
- Raise your hand if there are any questions.
- During group activities, please be mindful and respect your group members
- Maintain honesty and avoid any cheating or plagiarism
- Listen attentively when others are speaking
- Submit Class Feedback form before leaving Class.
- Please always keep the venue clean & throw all trash into the designated areas.
- Be open to share about 24asia and its impact.
GENERAL VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS
- Do wear a 24asia top, long pants and covered shoes at all volunteer events unless stated otherwise.
- Once you have agreed or signed up for the volunteering activity, please do take note that you would be needed to attend a volunteering briefing online/physical and be punctual to all sessions.
- would need to be punctual for the volunteering session and reach at least 30 minutes earlier.
- Make sure to be follow procedures and protocols at all time
- If needed to be absent from the volunteering activities, please notify the 24asia in charge of that volunteering event.
- If there is anything to declare, please declare it before the event to the 24asia Member-in-charge of that volunteering event.
- If you’re unable to attend an event/training that you’ve signed up for, do notify the 24asia Member-in-charge of the volunteering event at least 3 days in advance.
- Show enthusiasm, care and willingness to help during the volunteering event.
- Throughout the volunteering event, do respect other people’s privacy and confidentiality.
- Do not post harmful content onto social media at any time.
- Be proactive in volunteering during the event, and notify your leader of any last-minute changes.
- Adhere to all rules, policies, and procedures set by the school or organisation hosting the volunteer activity.
- For younger students, parental or guardian support and permission may be required. (only applicable if they are under age 18)
- Always prioritise personal safety—report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to the 24asia Member-in-charge.
- Respect differences in values, culture, background, and perspectives among volunteers and those served.
- Use devices responsibly during volunteer activities, avoiding distractions unless permitted or necessary.
- Familiarise yourself with emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and first aid protocols.
- Share ideas for improving volunteer activities or suggest new projects to increase impact and engagement. Remember to provide constructive feedback and avoid demeaning others.
- Volunteering is a service-based activity; volunteers are not to expect monetary compensation.
- Be open to share about 24asia and its impact.
WITHDRAWAL AND TERMINATION GUIDELINES
- Voluntary/involuntary leave from your roll can be discussed with the higher-ups in advance, we encourage you to maintain Hand Over Take Over (HOTO) Practices accordingly.
- Personal possessions and property of the organisation to be returned and witnessed by the higher-ups. Such as computer/electrical equipment’s, tools, keys, passes and other relevant logistics
